A New Kind of Adventure: How I Found My Dream Role at MOI
During my final year at college, COVID struck. And I wasn’t sure if uni was the right place for me. I looked around for jobs while I thought about my future. I found a job working at a school as a learning support assistant. But after a year and a half, I felt ready to move on and find experience something different.
I’ve always known I’m quite a creative person. And I knew I wanted to find a career where I could do what I love every day. I’ve dreamed of working in a marketing agency since college, so I started looking for apprenticeships.
And that’s where MOI comes in.
I was lucky enough to get an interview. Honestly, I’ve never experienced an interview quite like it before. MOI wanted to really know about me, not just my grades. They wanted to know about what I could do, rather than what I couldn’t. At that moment, I knew MOI was the perfect fit for me—a place where I was valued as an individual and respected for my personal journey.
When I started as MOI’s newest Marketing Apprentice within Client Services, I realized pretty quickly how much MOI cares about its employees. This is something I love about working here.
I’ve enjoyed every second of my time at MOI. Since my first day, I’ve felt supported by my colleagues and line managers. I love having the opportunity to learn from and work with so many creative people in a fast-paced agency. In my role, I support a variety of different projects.
Prior to joining MOI, I had little knowledge of marketing. So the marketing apprenticeship has been a fantastic way for me to learn on the job. It’s amazing to put what I’ve learned into practice. So far, the apprenticeship has not only helped me in my role but it’s also helped me understand the marketing agency dynamics and how that translates across different departments.
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time with my friends and family, going shopping, and listening to music. But one of my favorite things to do is travel. I love going abroad and absorbing diverse cultures—it’s so insightful and inspiring. Due to COVID, many of my travel plans were canceled, but I hope to continue to travel the world as things return to normal.
My immediate career aspirations are to successfully complete my apprenticeship. After that, I hope to grow within the agency and progress in my marketing career in the future.
