Experience Is the Best Teacher: What I Love About Agency Life at MOI
Hi, I’m John. I joined MOI as a Junior Account Executive straight out of uni after completing a four-year business and marketing degree. I had previous experience working in a small, but fast-paced business. I learned a lot about social media management and other digital marketing tools. It was a great starting point, but there wasn’t much room for growth. So I went looking for something that could give me that.
The thing I like most about working at MOI is the variety of different projects and challenges that I’m faced with every day. From managing client relationships to helping organize large-scale events—every day is a school day.
I currently work across seven different accounts. It’s helped me learn so much and really get involved in all of MOI’s Centers of Excellence. Also, MOI really values its teams, so I feel like I can have fun while at work. I’ve had the chance to work alongside the events team to deliver experiences for some of our biggest clients. That’s the beauty of MOI—and why I love working in client services.
Outside of agency life, I’m passionate about going to the gym and listening to music. During lockdown, I channeled my love for music and learned how to DJ—something I still do today. I’ve traveled the world to visit loads of house music events, with more planned over the summer. So far, I’ve watched live music in Amsterdam, Croatia, Spain, Greece, and parts of England.
My biggest achievements to date would be completing my degree and writing my dissertation. Even though it was exhausting at times, it was really rewarding and helped me to explore marketing and events in depth. Another great achievement of mine is completing a 10,000ft skydive to raise money for men’s mental health charity, CALM. And I plan on doing it again soon!
I hope to absorb as much information as possible during these crucial, influential months at MOI and use this to help me in the future.
